Die Wendener Sportanlage war für einige Monate wegen einer Totalüberholung geschlossen. Wir sahen die ersten Zeichen der bevorstehenden Überarbeitung im April, als die Bäume, welche die Sportanlage umgaben, gefällt wurden. Schritt für Schritt wurden die Zäune abgebaut. Später rissen schwere Baumaschinen das Spielfeld und die umgebende Laufbahn auf. Für die jährlichen Bundesjugendspielen mussten wir einen Ausweichort und eine andere Art der Durchführung finden. Jetzt ist die Sportanlage fast vollständig. Es gibt ein neues Spielfeld mit Kunstrasen, ein Minifeld und neue Zäune. Am Wochenende war das Team aus Möllmicke das erste, welches ein Spiel auf dem neuen Spielfeld austrug. Nur eines ist noch unvollständig. Die (rote) Tartanbahn fehlt. Ihr Untergrund, aus Teer, existiert schon. Damit kann unsere Schule im nächsten Sommer die Sportanlage wieder verwenden. Das ist etwas, auf das man sich freuen kann.
The Wenden sports arena was closed for several months for a complete overhaul. We saw the first signs of the impending refurbishment of the sports arena when the trees surrounding the area were cut down in April. Step by step fences were dismantled. Later heavy construction machines tore up the playing field and the surrounding track. For the yearly field and track competition we had to find a new location and another mode of execution. Now the sports arena is nearly complete. There is a new playing field with artificial turf, a new mini-field and there are new fences. At the weekend the soccer team of Möllmicke was the first team to play a game on the new playing field. Only one thing is still incomplete. The (red) tartan track is missing. Its underground, made of tarmac, is already in place. So, next summer our school can use the sports facility again. That’s something to look forward to.
