Informationsrechte sind wichtig und natürlich auch an unserer Schule ein Thema. Bildungsinstitutionen brauchen Informationen der ihr angehörenden Personen zum Betrieb. Sie verfügen über Schülerdaten wie Name, Geburtsdatum, Anschrift, Informationen zu Herkunft, wie Geburtsland und Namen der Eltern bzw. Erziehungsberechtigten. Zusätzlich gibt es noch Daten über besuchte Schulen, Schulbesuchsjahre und so weiter. Bei Schülern gibt es auch noch die sogenannten Leistungsdaten, wozu die Noten gehören. Schulen speichern auch Daten über Lehrer und andere an der Schule angestellte Personen. Informationen werden digital und auf Papier gespeichert. Da Schulen Informationen von identifizierbaren, lebenden Menschen speichern und verarbeiten, sind sie rechtlich verpflichtet, diese Daten zu schützen. Sie dürfen nur Informationen sammeln, welche sie für einen festgelegten Zweck benötigen, müssen sie sicher aufbewahren, darauf achten, dass sie sachbezogen und aktuell sind, dürfen nur so viel aufbewahren, wie benötigt wird, und nur so lange, wie notwendig, und denen, deren Daten sie aufbewahren (Schülern und Lehrern) müssen sie auf Verlangen Einsicht in ihre Daten gewähren. Informations rights are important and of course also an issue at our school. Education establishments need data of the individuals who belong to it to operate. They hold data about students such as are names, birth dates, addresses, information about the origin, such as country of birth, names of parents or guardians. In addition there is also information about schools students visited, years at school a.s.o.. For students there are also educational records including grades. Schools store data about teachers and others working at the school, too. Information is stored digitally and on paper. As schools handle and store information about identifiable, living people and thus are legally obliged to protect that information. They must only collect information that they need for a specific purpose; keep it secure; ensure it is relevant and up to date; only hold as much as they need, and only for as long as they need it; and allow the subject of the information (students or teachers) to see it on request.
