Am Dienstag trafen sich alle Lehrer der KAS in einer Konferenz unter Vorsitz des Schulleiters, um Informationen auszutauschen und wichtige Angelegenheiten zu diskutieren. Während der Versammlung informierte der Schulleiter der KAS, Joachim Winkelmann, seine Lehrerinnen und Lehrer über Veränderungen in der Art, wie Schulentwicklung zukünftig stattfinden wird. Die Rolle von Konferenzen, bei denen alle Lehrer anwesend sind, wird zurückgehen und die meiste Schulentwicklung wird von den Fachkonferenzen erarbeitet werden müssen. Dabei werden die Fachkonferenzen Deutsch, Mathematik und Englisch eine zentrale Rolle einnehmen. Erklärt wurde zusätzlich, wie die individuelle Förderung der Schüler in den Mittelpunkt der Bildungsarbeit an der KAS treten wird. Die anwesenden Lehrerinnen und Lehrer erfuhren auch, dass Berufsorientierung jetzt per Gesetz die zentrale Aufgabe der Hauptschulen ist. Der KAS ist dies nicht neu, denn wir haben uns immer darauf konzentriert, unsere Schüler für eine erfolgreiche Berufswahl vorzubereiten. Auf der Tagesordnung des Nachmittags stand auch die Busnetzoptimierung, welche mit dem Beginn des neuen Schuljahres in Kraft treten wird. Derzeit sehen die Dinge nicht zu günstig aus aber es scheint keine Alternative zu geben. Herr Winkelmann versprach, die Lehrer auf dem Laufenden zu halten. Es wurden Entscheidungen über eine Reihe von Anträgen an die Schulkonferenz getroffen. Danach gab es Informationen zum Rest des zweiten Halbjahres, so wie Abschlussprüfungen, die Lernstandserhebung und Parallelarbeiten, das neue Budget und weiteres. Unsere Schule hat eine Anzahl Schüler mit ADS und es ist notwendig die Herausforderung, welche diese Schüler an uns stellen, anzugehen. Frau Dietrich informierte ihre Kollegen über Coaching durch eine Fachkraft und Maßnahmen, welche die KAS ergreifen wird, um Schüler mit ADS besser einzubinden. Zusätzlich auf der Tagesordnung waren noch die beweglichen Ferientage des neuen Schuljahres, Schüler- und Klassenwettbewerbe und die geplante Verbesserung des Schulhofes.
On Tuesday’s all teachers of KAS met in a conference chaired by the head teacher to share information and discuss matters of interest. During the meeting the head teacher of KAS, Mr Joachim Winkelmann, informed his teachers about changes in the way school development will take place in the future. The role of the conferences with full staff in attendance will be reduced and most school development will have to be done in faculty meetings. The faculties of German, Mathmatics and English will be central in this process. It was additionally explained in what way promotion of skills of individual students will be at the center of all educational work of KAS. The attending teachers also learned that now occupational orientation (Berufsorientierung) is the central task of all Hauptschulen by law. To KAS that’s not new because we’ve always focused on preparing our students for a successful career choice. On the agenda of the afternoon also was the optimization of the bus system which will come into effect with the beginning of the new term. Right now things do not look too favourable but there seems to be little choice. Mr Winkelmann promised to keep the staff posted. A number of applications where decided upon to present to the school conference. Next there were informations about the remainder of the second half of the current term, such as examinations, the budget and else. Our school has a number of students with attention deficit disorder (ADS) and there is need to systematically face the challenge these students pose. Mrs Dietrich informed her colleagues about coaching by a specialist and measures KAS will take to best integrate students with ADS. Additionally on the agenda of the conference were the planned holidays for the next term, new competitions for forms and students and the planned improvement of the school yard.
