Am Freitagabend brachen Schülerinnen und Schüler der Klassen 8, ihre Lehrer, Ski- und Snowboardtrainer und einige Schüler aus der Klasse 10 vom Busbahnhof der KAS in Richtung italienische Alpen auf. Vor ihnen lag eine anstrengende Busfahrt von vielen Stunden. In den frühen Morgenstunden kamen sie in Luttach, Ahrntal, an, entluden ihr Gepäck aus dem Bus und mussten dann noch einige Zeit warten, bevor sie in ihre Zimmer gehen konnten. Danach gingen sie zum Skiverleih. Dort erhielten sie passende Skistiefel, Skier, Skistöcke und Helme. Die verbleibenden Stunden des Nachmittags und frühen Abends wurden mit einem Einführungskurs in das Skifahren und Snowboardfahren am Fuß der Pisten nahe der Talstation des Lifts verbracht. Wie jeder selbst nachsehen kann, sind die Pisten in gutem Zustand, so dass eine Abfahrt bis ins Tal möglich ist. Gegenwärtig beträgt die Schneehöhe im Tal (950 m) 70 cm und in einer Höhe von 2000 m gibt es ungefähr 155 cm Schnee. Das sind, so kann man sagen, perfekte Skibedingungen.
On Friday evening students of Year 8, that teachers, skiing and snowboarding instructors and some students of Year 10 left from the bus station at KAS for the Italian Alps. Ahead of them lay a tiring coach trip of many hours. They arrived in the early morning hours at Luttach, Ahrntal, unloaded or luggage from the coach and then had to wait for some time before they could move into their rooms. Next they went to the shop which rents skiing equipment. There they were fit their skiing boots, skis, skiing sticks and helmets. The remaining hours of the afternoon and early evening was spent with an introductory course to skiing and snowboarding at the bottom of the skiing slopes close to the base station the lift. As you can check for yourself the slopes are in very good condition so that a decent is possible to the valley. Right now snow height in the valley (950 m) is 70 cm, at an altitude of 2000 m there are about 155 cm of snow. These are, you can say, perfect skiing conditions.
