Wer es nicht bemerkt hat, sollte sich zu Google Maps begeben und selbst nachschauen. Die Satellitenkarten, welche Google Maps verwendet, wurden kürzlich aktualisiert. Vielleicht erinnert ihr euch, dass die alten Satellitenfotos wirklich ziemlich veraltet waren als Google Maps als Dienst startete. Es handelte sich um Fotos aus einer Zeit als die HTS noch in einer frühen Bauphase war und unser Schulgebäude noch ohne jenen Anbau, welche jetzt das Lehrerzimmer, das Schulleiterbüro, das Sekretariat und die neue Mensa beheimatet. Obwohl Google jetzt Zugang zu einem Satelliten hat, müssen sie für viele Teile der Welt noch immer Bilder kaufen. Diese neuen Bilder sind neu jedoch nicht aktuell, wie man leicht erkennen kann. Sie datieren zurück auf circa Oktober/November 2009 als die neue Mensa noch immer im Bau befindlichen war. Auf dem Satellitenbild kann man Container neben dem Anbau stehen sehen. Auch neu in diesem Bild sind der Sportplatz mit dem neuen Kunstrasen und der Tartanbahn sowie das Minifußballfeld. Wenn man heraus zoomt oder sich im Satellitenfoto nach Osten bewegt, kann man sehen, dass es jetzt auch die Verlängerung der Autobahn A4 und die HTS beinhaltet.
For those of you who haven’t noticed, head over to Google maps and have a look for yourself. The satellite maps which Google maps use have recently been updated. Perhaps you remember that the old satellite photos were really outdated when Google maps started as a service. They were photos from a time when the HTS was in the very early stages of construction and when our school building was still without that part which now is home to the staff room, the principal’s office, the schools secretary’s office and the new cafeteria. Although Google now has access to a satellite they still have to buy images for most parts of the world. These new images are new but not recent as you can easily see. They date back to about October/ November 2009 when the new cafeteria was still under construction. In the satellite image you can see containers next to the extension. Also new in this image are the sports field with its new Astroturf and tartan track and the mini football field . Zoom out or move east in the satellite image and you can see that it now also includes the then very new extension to the autobahn A4 and the HTS.
