Wie jeder weiß, der an der KAS lernt und arbeitet, gibt es am Eingang zum Schulhof eine Schranke. Sie wurde aufgestellt, um Fremde daran zu hindern, den Schulhof mit ihren Autos zu befahren. In der Vergangenheit sahen wir oft Eltern, die ihre Kinder direkt vor dem Eingang zum Schulgebäude absetzten. Besucher an der Schule führen ebenfalls mit ihren Autos auf den Schulhof. Dann kam die Schranke und sie ist die meiste Zeit über geschlossen. Wer weiß, wie es geht, kann sie öffnen, indem er die Schranke hebt. Beide Schulen in unserem Schulzentrum bekommen täglich viel Post, darunter auch Pakete und es kann von der Postbotin nicht erwartet werden, dass sie diese den ganzen Weg zu den Schulbüros hinunter trägt. Deswegen darf sie die Schranke öffnen. Seit wir die Schranke haben, wurde sie mehrfach beschädigt, durch Autos und Schüler. Jetzt ist sie wieder kaputt. Wie zu vernehmen war, ist die Konstruktion der Schranke ohnehin recht unsolide gewesen mit einem Schrankenarm, der für die Befestigung zu lang und schwer war.
As everybody learning and working at KAS knows, there is a arm barrier at the entry to the schoolyard of our school. It was installed to keep outsiders from entering the schoolyard with their cars. In the past we often saw parents drop their offspring directly in front of the entrance to the school building. Visitors to the school also drove onto the schoolyard. Then the arm barrier came and it’s closed most of the time. Those who know how can open it by raising the arm of the barrier. Both schools in our building get lots of mail, including parcels, every day and the postwoman can’t be asked to carry it all the way to the secretarys‘ offices. That’s why she’s allowed to open the arm barrier. Since we’ve got the arm barrier it’s been damaged repeatedly, by cars and by students. Now it’s broken again. As we heard the arm barrier last installed was of flimsy construction, its arm too long and heavy for the way it was fastened to the pole.
