Unsere Schule wurde gebeten, an einer europäischen Studie über junge Leute und die Vermarktung von Alkohol teilzunehmen. Schülerinnen und Schüler im Alter von 13-14 Jahren sind daran beteiligt. Heute waren zwei Mitarbeiterinnen der Zeus-GmbH, einem nationalen Partner von AMPHORA (einem €4 Millionen Projekt, welches von der EU mitfinanziert ist), an der Schule um den ersten Teil der dreiteiligen Studie durchzuführen. Die AMPHORA Studie möchte die europäischen Grundlagen stärken, mit welchen Politiker alkoholbezogene Schäden unter jungen Europäern vermindern möchten. Wie wir erfuhren unterscheiden sich die Gesetze bezüglich der Verfügbarkeit von Alkohol für junge Leute und der Alkoholwerbung innerhalb europäischer Länder deutlich. Europäische Politiker möchten diese Gesetze vereinheitlichen. Zeus ist eine von sechs Forschungseinrichtungen von EU Mitgliedstaaten, welche an der Studie beteiligt sind. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler, welche den online Fragebogen mithilfe der beiden Frauen von Zeus ausgefüllt haben, werden noch zweimal Fragebögen bearbeiten, im April nächsten Jahres und im April 2012.
Our school was asked to take part in a European study about young people and alcohol marketing. Students from 13 to 14 years of age participate. Today two staff of Zeus-GmbH, one off the national partners of AMPHORA (a €4 million project co-financed by the European Commission), came to school to do the first part of the three-part study. The AMPHORA study wants to measure young people’s exposure to commercial communications and examine how this relates to drinking behaviour two years later. The study wants to strengthen the European evidence base for policymakers to reduce alcohol–related harm among European young people. As we were told laws regarding access of young people to alcohol and advertisements for alcohol vary significantly within European countries. European policymakers plan to streamline these laws. Zeus is one of six research institutions from EU member states which are involved in the study. Those students who filled out the online questionnaire with the help off the two women from Zeus will fill out questionnaires two more times, in April of next year and in April of 2012.
