Golf ist eine allgemein bekannte Sportart, die jedoch nur von wenigen aktiv betrieben wird. Glücklicherweise gibt es in der Nähe einen Golf Club, den Golfclub Siegen-Olpe e.V. (GCSO), und eine unserer Lehrerinnen, Frau Bracht, spielt dort Golf. Um neue Spieler an den Sport heranzuführen, bot der GCSO mit der Konrad-Adenauer-Hauptschule einen Einsteigerkurs an. Schülerinnen und Schüler konnten sich um die Teilnahme bewerben und 12 von ihnen wurden ausgewählt. Von April an bis Juni trafen sie sich jeden Dienstag am Golf Club und lernten, wie man mit dem Golfschläger den kleinen weißen Ball schlägt. Sie fanden heraus, wie schwierig es ist, den Ball mit so wenigen Schlägen wie möglich dicht an das Loch zu bekommen. Alle zwölf schlugen sich wacker und erhielten das Kindergolfabzeichen in Silber. Die Hälfte von ihnen wurde als die vielversprechendsten Spieler ausgewählt und erhielten eine kostenlose Mitgliedschaft bis zum Jahresende geschenkt und ihre Trainingsausrüstung gab es als Zugabe. Golf is a sport which is widely known but not played by many. Fortunately there is a golf club nearby, Golfclub Siegen-Olpe e.V. (GCSO) and one of our teachers, Mrs Bracht, is an active player in this club. To introduce new players to the sport GCSO offered an introductory course in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Hauptschule Wenden. Students could apply to take part in the course and 12 boys and girls were chosen. Every Tuesday from April to June they met at the golf club and learned how to swing the club at the tiny white ball. They found out how difficult it is to hit the ball close to the hole in the ground with as few strokes as possible. All of the twelve did very well and earned a youth badge in silver. Half of them were finally chosen as the best prospects and given a free membership for the rest of the year with the equipment they had used during the course thrown in.
