Am Montag, 26.03.2007, besuchten die 20 Schulsanitäter der KAS Wenden die Leitstelle des Rettungsdienstes in Olpe. Um 8 Uhr fuhr der Bus von der Schule nach Olpe zum Busbahnhof und von dort aus ging es dann zu Fuß zum Kreishaus, wo die Leitstelle untergebracht ist.
Um 8:45 Uhr empfing uns der Personalchef, Herr Kuhle, und ging mit uns in den Raum, wo der Krisenstab tagte als der Sturm Kyrill wütete. Dort zeigte er uns dann ein paar Bilder von Kyrill, erklärte einige Dinge und beantwortete einige Fragen von uns. Danach durften wir ein paar Treppenstufen weiter hoch in die Zentrale, wo wir schon von zwei Rettungsassistenten erwartet wurden. Sie zeigten uns bzw. erklärten uns, was sie tun, wenn ein Notruf eingeht und sie diesen dann an die Rettungskräfte weitergeben. Dann durfte einer von uns mit seinem Handy den Notruf wählen und Uwe, so heißt einer der beiden, zeigte, wie er und seine Kollegen dann vorgehen.
Er hat uns z.B. gezeigt, was und wie alles in die Computer (es sind drei!) eingegeben werden muss, wie entschieden wird, welche Fahrzeuge ausrücken sollen usw.. Auch er und sein Kollege haben unsere Fragen beantwortet. Wir haben in dieser Zeit sogar einen „Scherzanruf“ mitbekommen. Zum Schluss durften wir dann noch im Raum vom Krisenstab frühstücken, bevor es um 11 Uhr mit dem Bus zurück zur Schule ging.

On Monday, March 26, twenty first aiders from KAS Wenden visited the control room of the rescue services of Olpe. At 8 the coach left from KAS for Olpe central coach station and from there on the way had to be walked to Olpe’s administration department where the control room of the rescue services is located. At 8:45 o’clock Mr Kuhle the staff manager welcomed us and accompanied us to the room where the crisis team met when the storm Kyrill raged. There he showed some pictures of the storm to us, explained things and answered our questions. Some steps up in the central office we met two men who functioned as dispatchers. The explained what they do when an emergency call comes in and how the pass it on to the emergeny services. Then one of us was asked to send an emergency call from a mobile phone and Uwe, one of them, showed how he and his colleague proceed.
He also demonstrated how he has to feed in the infomation connected to the call into three computers and how the decision is made which vehicles to send out, a.s.o.. He and his colleague answered some questions too. During that time we also whitnessed a faked emergeny call. At the end we were allowed to have a breakfast in the staffroom. before we returned by coach at 11 o’clock.
