Heute weilte ein kleiner Familienzirkus an unserer Schule. Sieben Personen waren insgesamt gekommen, drei Männer und eine Frau, ein Junge und zwei Mädchen. Die beiden Mädchen waren im letzten Sommer für ein paar Tage Schülerinnen unserer Schule als ihr Zirkus in Wenden Aufführungen hatte. Sie hatten auch vier Vögel mitgebracht. Diese Vögel waren weiße Tauben. Drei Vorstellungen waren geplant gewesen. Eintritt sollte 3 € sein. Zu Beginn gab es etwas Verwirrung. Niemand wusste so recht, zu welcher Vorstellung wer wann gehen sollte. Viele Schüler hatten kein Interesse an den Aufführungen. Schließlich beschlossen die Lehrer, dass alle interessierten Schüler in eine einzige Aufführung gehen sollten, direkt nach der großen Pause. Der Zirkus stimmte einem Eintrittspreis von 2 € zu. Nach der Pause füllte sich die Aula bis auf den letzten Platz und noch viele weitere Schüler kamen. Nur wenige wollten lieber Unterricht machen. Einige mussten auch auf dem Boden sitzen. Insgesamt schien es den meisten zu gefallen. Es wurde geklatscht und gelacht. Die Stimmung war gut. (Die englische Version unten ist etwas ausführlicher und beschreibt die Vorführungen.)
Today we had a little family circus at our school. All in all seven persons had come, three men and one woman, one boy and two girls. The two girls had been students at our school for some days last summer when their circus performed in Wenden. They had also brought four birds. These birds were white pigeons. Three performances had been planned. Admission was 3 € per student. At first there was some confusion. No one really knew which performance to go to. Lots of students didn’t want to see the artists. Finally the teachers decided to have one performance for all students interested in the circus right after the big break. The circus agreed to 2 € per student. After the break the large auditorium filled to the last seat. More and more students came. Only few didn’t come and chose to do lessons instead. So some students had to sit on the ground. The beginning of the performance was the two girls doing acrobatics. Amazing what they could do. They could put their feet to their heads from the back. After that Fernando the star artist performed. He juggled and did astonishing things. The woman did some tricks with her four pigeons. Next the younger girl showed some more acrobatics. She could do things no one at our school will ever be able to do. Fernando came back as a clown and the little boy performed as a clown too. The last part of the show was Fernando’s again. He was good at juggling and acrobatics though not perfect. But even if he dropped a number of things our students admired him. Some of the older girls liked him very much because he had such a fine body. After all most students came out of the auditorium smiling and laughing. They had had lots of fun in there.
